Issue: Were the statements of the 7 year old girl inadmissible hearsay? Holding: The statements were admissible to show knowledge of such objects in the room and therefore is a circumstantial fact indicating knowledge on the part of Sharon Schunk at a particular time. Purpose of the statement was not to establish the truth of the matter asserted: That those objects were really in the room, but rather was admissible because the fact that she had made the statements can be deemed to tend to show that at the time those statements were made she had knowledge as to articles and descriptive features which, as was proven by other evidence, were in fact in or about that room and house.
