Discussion Part One Deciding what advance nurse practitioner (ANP) is reliant on what the future ANP wants to achieve intheir career. The advanced nurse practitioner role is a unique dual role in traditional medical practice andnursing (Hurlock-Chorostecki, Forchuk, Orchard, Soeren, & Reeves, 2014). The four roles of the ANPinclude Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM), Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP), Clinical Nurse Specialist(CNS), and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. In this week’s post I will be evaluating each of thefour ANP roles and their individual scopes of practice. Certified nurse practitioner (CNP) deliver primary and acute care in clinics, schools, hospitals, and othersettings. These providers perform care and diagnostic tests. There healthcare performing physicalexaminations, treating common acute illnesses and injuries, immunizations, and managing chronichealth problems. CNPs are likely to practice with a general or specific population (Cahill & Hysong,2012).
