Moore notes that the amount of gun-violence in America is far greater than the amount in other countries. Moore looks at the details of the Columbine school shootings and notes that before the two gunmen shot up the school, they went bowling. Moore then journeys to his home state of Michigan and notices that banks were giving away guns for opening a checking account there. Then Moore correlates the violence in Littleton with the existence of a large weapons producer, Lockheed Martin. Moore then lists the history of violence of America in a montage. Moore goes to Canada to find out why there is not so much violence in Canada. In Canada, Moore finds out that no one locked his or her doors, and the news did not report violence as the top story. Moore takes two Columbine victims to the K-Mart headquarters and demands an apology to the victims because the bullets used to shoot them were bought from K-Mart. After much deliberation, K-Mart decided to eliminate the sales of bullets. Moore visits NRA president Charlton Heston and bombards him with questions. America is institutionalized in violence.
