In 2014 nearly half of all college admissions were over the age of 25 at an astonishing 8.2 million students (nced.gov). Not everyone is set and ready to jump into the college setting right  away once they graduate high school. Some, travel, enter the military, work or simply take some  time off to enjoy life. Whatever the case may be to delay going to college, the non-traditional or  adult learner has both benefits and risks that come with this later start.       A non-traditional student is someone that has chosen not to enter college directly after  graduating from high school. The characteristics of a non-traditional student are: someone who is
