ARTICLE CRITIQUE 2 Article Critique on Compared to the Surgery for Sleep Apnea As a quantitative study, Benoist, Verhagen, Torensma, van Maanen, and de Vries, N. (2016) have begun by elaborating on the background or purpose of the study in a more exclusive approach. It provides a deeper understanding of what is expected to be covered in the article by the audience and hence setting an interesting pace of reading. Dependent variables integrated include mean disease alleviation (MDA) and compliance rates, as they are key variables observed in the study. As for independent variables, the authors included age in years, gender in composition percentage, body mass index, neck circumference in centimeters, percentage number of those smoking, and percentage number of those taking alcohol. They are all well- defined with a clear categorization and their expression in statistical implications.
