Professor Rendon,Why is it that the United States has the world’s largest economy? Is it because the U.S. has thelargest population? Well, no. The United States sits at #3 behind China and India. Is it because ofdemocracy and free enterprise? Perhaps. Lundvall, (2013), said that it is first assumed that theresource most fundamental in the modern economy is knowledge and the most important processis learning. The United States has given way to many areas of higher learning and has promotedthinkers, those with a vision and dream. Has it always perfected its strides? Of course not.However, this country has a rich history of free thinkers and innovators which has paved the wayfor a flourishing and growing country.It is not always a pager or cell phone or internet that changes things. Countries thrive offcompanies that are always bringing about new products, but more importantly, it is the vision ofpeople that bring about these products. When people are happy at work, they work harder
