Unformatted text preview: Pressure Gauge on Carbonated Drinks Nicole Girsch Team #2: Designalicious Type and Purpose This innovation is a product The purpose is to detect when the pressure inside of a can of a carbonated drink is stable enough to open without it exploding from the can. Main Drivers/ Potential Customers I thought of this innovation when I was opening a coke that I had just bought from a vending machine and, due to it being tossed around inside the machine, it exploded all over me when I opened it. A pressure gauge would have told me it was not yet safe to open the can. Coca Cola companies and other soda manufacturing companies Visual Depiction Narrative Description This innovation would include a gauge on the side of all carbonated soda cans/bottles that has a liquid indicator that rises and falls depending on the pressure of the contents of the can. There will be a "safe" indicator/line so the consumer will know when the can of soda is okay to open once the pressure inside has gone down. Main Drivers/ Potential Customers I thought of this innovation because it would be nice to have faster service at restaurants and it is frustrating when the waiter doesn't take your order correctly and you have to send it back. Restaurants would use these electronic menu in place of regular menus. Visual Depiction Narrative Description These new and improved menus work by allowing the customer to chose which item on the menu they would like to order by simply touching the button next to the food choice, and this information will be sent directly to the kitchen, errorfree. Also, this will eliminate the amount of work waiters have to do, and their only job will be to bring out the food and drinks and they can focus more of their energy on making sure the customers are fully taken care of and having an enjoyable dining experience. Main Drivers/ Potential Customers I developed this innovation because I know how annoying it can be to have your dishwasher going while you are trying to watch television or simply eat dinner in peace. Anyone who owns an appliance that produces loud noise. Visual Depiction Narrative Description This innovation attaches to an electrical appliance that typically emits loud noises and analyzes the noise source and puts out negative sound waves to counter it. It can be used on any appliance because it can analyze a range of sound waves. Main Drivers/ Potential Customers I developed this innovation because I know how annoying it can be when ice cubes get in the way of drinking any drink from a cup without a straw. Everyone! Visual Depiction Holes Filter Narrative Description This insertable ice trap works by keeping ice towards the bottom of the glass when you drink from it so the ice doesn't interfere with drinking the beverage. The filter comes in many sizes to fit a variety of glasses and is reusable. It has small holes in it which allow the liquid to pass through but not the ice.
