Milton Glaser was born in New York City in 1929. Glaser attended Cooper Union in
Manhattan, New York and graduated from there. His specialty was in the art of graphic design. A
few years down the road, Glaser returned from a Fullbright Fellowship in Italy to join a studio in
which he co-founded called Push Pin Studios. This studio was a graphic design and illustration
studio in New York that was founded in 1954. The studio was named after a mailing piece, The
Push Pin Almanack , which was published during the time before the company was co-founded.
The studio became a guiding reference to graphic design across the world. He established
Milton Glaser, Inc. which focuses on graphic design for companies, environmental and interior
design, packaging, and product design.
I chose this designer because he is very open to new ideas. In his work, I can see the
different variety of designs he likes to create. His designs go from simplistic designs to very
abstract and I think that his variety is really what caught my eye. He seems like he is a very
dedicated graphic designer and his designs include a few of my personal favorite designs.
