This course is structured on the premise that legal knowledge is a personal and strategic asset. Introduction to the Regulatory Environment 05/12/09 FBE 428 3  applies legal principles to current topics of interest. The course: begins with an overview of the common law of contracts as it relates to the governance of employment relations; proceeds with a review of the significant state and federal law and regulations affecting employment and human resource topics; and, addresses the influences of changing workplace values of the workplace, governmental regulation and technology upon the workplace.  the student will acquire a sound grasp of the concepts, legal vocabulary, and rules of law that apply to the material covered; and, will attain the long-term benefit of spotting potential legal problems and issues.
