Sections 1.1 - 4.5,4.7-6.5, and8.7 of thetextandadditionalmaterialinvolving«vectors andcomplex numbers have been divided into 13 units. There are about 15 weeks in the semester, and the material will be covered at the rate of approximately one unit per week. (Refer to schedule.) You will be allowed to miss one exam (for any reason). If you miss more than one exam and have adequately documented, acceptable excuses, you may ask for a make-up exam at the end of the semester. This exam will be more difficult than those given during the semester. However, if you take all exams, you may replace the lower grades on two units with the higher grades on those units. IT IS TO YOUR ADVANTAGE TO TAKE ALL EXAMS EVEN IF YOU FEEL "UNPREPARED"!! There will be a quiz given during the Thursday class. You will be allowed to miss one quiz (for any reason). If youtakeall quizzes,youwillbeallowedto dropthe lowestgrade. . Each unit has a set of problems which must be worked on cross-sectional paper in the format shown on the attached example copy if you want them to be graded. These must be submitted at the beginning of the period for the first exam on the unit (except Unit 1A is due Thursday, August 23). Homework will be accepted at 2 times only (NO OTHER TIME): (1) the beginning of the Tuesday exam (on time), (2) the beginning of your Wednesday class (1 day late).
