Problem Set 4

This homework has two components: Hypothesis testing and linear
regression. Keep in mind that the book makes an extensive treatment
of these two topics. For the course we will be happy with
understanding the philosophy and the basics, but most importantly the
goal will be to become familiar with both topics and to be able to use
them in solving real problems.
•
Due Wednesday Aug. 30, at most at 8:30pm at Malott Hall 116 (to get
into the building after 4pm, you should use the front door, next to
Bayley Hall, the auditorium). No late homework’s will be accepted as
usual. This is very important so that you have your homework back as
a feedback for the exam.
Problems: x/y=page x, problem y; Use JMP where possible.
