TortsTortsTort law is a set of laws that provides remedies to people who have been caused harm by the unreasonable acts of another(Johnson & Lau, 2014). The premise of this set of laws is that people, including businesses and government bodies, are liable for the consequences of their actions. This is applicable even if the harm caused was unintentional. A specific type of harm that can be caused is referred to as negligence. NegligenceNegligence is the terms used to describe the failure of a person or a company to take proper precaution and care while doing something. I personally have been the victim of a person acting in a criminally negligent manner. While driving home from work, a young person who was texting while driving hit my vehicle, which was at a complete stop, going fifty miles per hour. My entire car was totaled, though I sustained no physical injuries from the crash. The
