FIELD EXPERIENCE A: LEARNER DEVELOPMENTAt Duello Elementary in Mrs. Pennington’s second grade classroom, she has a young boywith an auditory processing disorder. This disorder was diagnosed in the first grade when the child stopped responding, because he was unable to hear out of one of his ears. It slowing startedto affect his ability to respond in an appropriate manner because he was not hearing like an average child would. In the classroom the school hearing specialist and counselor had a sound system installed in the classroom. The teacher uses the microphone around her neck during the classroom and the student sits towards the front of the class so he can hear out of his better ear ashe continually loses hearing now in his other ear.
