Kayla AvalosEnglish 102Professor Johnson7 February 2017“World and Screen”In the informational story “World and Screen” by Nicholas Carr, he begins by retelling the audience what is known about the world and how it is a “strange, changeable, and dangerous place.” Everyday there is a new advancement to help the human population into getting where they need to in the world. Simple paper maps started for the people as the best navigation; and following maps came “star maps, charts, and instruments like compasses.” The advancements never stop, “roads paved, signs posted, and highways linked,” kept growing as navigation until the most and helpful, GPS, was created. Traditional maps took some thinking to navigate but now there is a new technology.
