UNIT 5 ASSIGNMENT 2 Unit 5 Assignment What does an operating system do? Your operating system the most important piece of software you need for your computer. It is essentially the manager that allows your hardware and software to communicate and work effectively while managing dedicated memory and processes. There are several types of operating systems the two most popular being MAC and Windows some prefer Linux and Solaris but those are for more advanced users who prefer command line operations. How does the OS manage the Processer? The OS manages series of timed events during task. While completing these task the OS coordinates the activities of the processer. The operating system has to switch between different processes thousands of times a second. The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
