Rhetoric 1A, Section 5 August 31, 2007 Paper 1: Practicing Description as a Form of Analysis I have been here thrice since moving to California. From what I’m used to, it’s a small restaurant visited for quick meals. But, that’s the pinnacle for college students who spending most of their time burdened with either studying or writing papers. This particular business is shoulder-to-shoulder with other restaurants in the alley. A sign in front of the entrance, displaying today’s specials, helps it to stand out. The exterior of the building is mainly made up with glass, which allows passing locals to glance in to survey the capacity. Once inside, one will notice the long menu written in chalk on boards, which are comparable to those used by professors during lectures. Colors of green, red, blue, and white are scribbled in surprisingly excellent penmanship and describe meals which range from curry to stir-fry. The cash register sits on a stretched wooden podium and behind it stands an employee. Walking an additional four steps into the restaurant will bring the customer facing six
