Sarah Ohlinger Dr. Peters Sociology 100 17 November 2006 Out-of-Class Assignment Three In a conversation with the Taliban, I would bring up such differences like justice and how Saudi women are treated in comparison to US practices. I would explain how I understand why they are so cruel to people who have broken the law, but at the same time I would express how in our culture people are treated much less cruelly. I would ask the Taliban why they have to practice such violent torturing like stoning to death to punish someone. In return I’m sure they would question our methods and ask why we let the guilty go free and why sometimes the innocent are imprisoned. In response to that, we would have to come to a compromise that the court system has flaws whether it’s in the United States or in Afghanistan. We have to learn to accept each others differences and take into account that each practice has its strengths and weaknesses. The second issue I would bring up is how Saudi women are treated in the Taliban
