Beaufort scale (201) – A scale of wind speed based originally on visual assessment of the effects of wind on seas, and later extended to describe the effects of wind on land- based flexible objects such as trees. Cup anemometer (201) – An instrument used to monitor wind speed. The motion of the 3-4 spinning cups is calibrated in wind speed. Hot-wire anemometer (201) – An instrument that measures wind speed based on the rate of heat loss to air flowing passed a heated wire. The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
