Jaela Goodwin Professor Shumway May 4, 2017 MUS 1010 Concert Report: Extra Credit On April 28, 2017, I attended the PGCC Jazz Faculty Recital in the Marlboro Art Gallery. The instrumentalist were Bobby Muncy, Reginald Cyntje, Anthony Pirog, Kevin Pace, and Andrew Hare. The songs performed in this jazz concert were a pick from: Afternoon in Paris, Beatrice, Voyage, Like Someone in Love, You Don’t Know What Love Is, Bouncin’ With Bud, Knives Out, and Adona the Painter . One piece that I really enjoyed and connected to was Afternoon in Paris . The song Afternoon in Paris was played by the tenor saxophone, trombone, guitar, bass, and drums. The song is in the instrumental music genre. This is because their music was performed was as form of entertainment for a mass of people with no vocal accompaniment. In instrumental music, the number of instruments varies on the symphony performed by a solo instrument, whereas in an orchestra the number of instruments are in the fifties. In contrast to an orchestra, a jazz group could range from four to five instruments in their compositions.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
