With the technological advances in today’s healthcare systems, people are finding more and more of a need for the technological devices that bioengineering offers. Companies are looking for more bioengineers to supply the increasing demand for bioengineering technologies. I plan to use a B.S. in Bioengineering to satisfy my pre-medical requirements for medical school. There are only four additional classes I would have to add into my major to satisfy the prerequisites for medical school. However, if I eventually chose not to apply for medical school I would still have a powerful degree behind me to help me jump start into a successful career. I first found my interest in bioengineering when my uncle developed a series hearing problem. Due to the contributions of some bioengineers in Germany he was able to keep what hearing he still had left and even to help gain some of the hearing he had lost back. It is my hope to be able to one day be able to make a contribution through a bioengineering device that will

If I were to describe bioengineering to someone not from a scientific background I would describe it as a science helping to improve the lives of others through different medical devices and technologies. It is a type of science that helps engineer the medical miracles such as artificial tissues and limbs, hearing aids, and pacemakers. I have had a limited background in biology. I took elementary school biology as well as college prep biology in high school. Other than that I have nt been really fully introduced to the wide range of biology. On the other hand, I have had a thorough introduction to mathematics. I have studied high school algebra, trigonometry, geometry, and single variable calculus. I would like answered for me: What career options are available with a B.S. in Bioengineering, and Can a Bioengineer study abroad without delaying graduation...
