Benefits of Outsourcing Services
The idea of outsourcing began many years ago when large corporation aimed to
become larger, integrated and diversified (Gobble, M.M. 2013). Since the early 1970s,
outsourcing has and continues to be a popular option for small, medium, and large
organizations. The benefit of outsourcing services enables organizations to focus on
their core competencies, potential to increase the quality of services, and most
importantly lower cost. Organizations may choose to outsource various functions based
on the particular type of function and if it will be beneficial overall. When an
organization decides to outsource a function, they must analyze the benefit, as well as
the risks involved with the effects of outsourcing and how it may alter the culture of the
organization.
Atwood Laboratories has recently received an increase of patients due to the
closing of a local large laboratory. With the influx of patients, Atwood’s billing has also
increased tremendously, and the company is considering outsourcing the patient billing
