Goals The objective of this course is to provide the student with an understanding of fluid mechanics as it applies to the environment and to civil engineering works. Graduate students will obtain a deeper understanding of mathematics and engineering backgrounds and will investigate more complex application. Prerequisite(s) CEGR 3143 or consent of the department. Class Topics The objective of this course is to provide the student with an understanding of fluid mechanics as it applies to the environment and to civil engineering works. Course Outcomes By the end of the class the student will be able to: * solve uniform, open channel flow problems using either hand calculations or computer methods, * understand the terms in the differential form of the equations of motion, * design single or networks of pressure pipe flow systems * calculate depth profiles in channels with steady gradually­varying flow, * design culverts given information on
