FINA 7320: International Financial Markets Term Project Introduction The term project for this course involves international investing. You will be researching and investing in two domestically based multinational corporations (MNCs) and two foreign firms. You will be evaluating the performance of these firms over the term of your investment. Not only will you be examining how the firms performed, but you will be asked to analyze the possible reasons for the performance. Not only firm-specific factors will affect a firm’s stock performance, but international events and macroeconomic factors may also have an impact on stock price performance. General Information The Term Project is based on Appendix D, International Investing Project, from International Financial Management, 12 th Edition, Madura (the required textbook for the course, referred to as “Madura” from here forward). All general information is provided in this Appendix. There will be additional required items and specific due dates that will be specified here in this Term Project Description. Submission Expectations The following list of submission expectations represents the general level of effort expected of a graduate student. Using the analogy of each submission being a request from “your boss”; provide at least a minimum level of information that answers your boss’ questions, you may earn a B. Initial Submission for Portfolio Selection (due at the end of Unit 1) Submit an Excel spreadsheet (format found in text); in addition to the name of the firm, ticker, amount invested ($10,000) and purchase price per share, I want a short explanation (under 100 words), of why you chose that particular stock. This explanation should be included in the excel spreadsheet. You should use the “wrap” function for the cell in order to have your text fit and be easy to read. Each explanation is to include: The firm’s general business, key business unit sectors should be identified such that it is clear what major industry sectors are included. For foreign stocks, be sure to indicate their home country currency. What criteria were used in your selection, e.g., firm’s industry sector growth, analyst opinions, forward earnings projections, industry expectations, etc. For the

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
