Symptoms of Thelma’s Axis I disorders are also symptoms of borderline personality disorder are: Intrusive thoughts; Chronic feelings of emptiness; fear/helplessness; Paranoia. 2. A) Switching therapists would be difficult for Thelma because due to her diagnosis she feels anxiety when faced with change. Sometimes her fear and paranoia will ultimately affect the way she lives her daily life and changing therapists may be viewed as a threat to her daily routine. B ) Thelma was reassured when the therapist really took the time to get to know her and make her feelings feel important and valued. She was also given medication to help reduce symptoms.
