When the carriage falls in the ditch, everyone fell down. However, no one falls out of the carriage. Presently, all come down out of the carriage and into the road, worried but unhurt. Cornelius, although he is glad that everyone is unhurt, blames the miserable carriage. “Come on, Syrus! Don’t do nothing! Immediately drag the carriage out of the ditch!” Syrus therefore spurs on the horses. The horses strenuously drag the carriage, but in vain. The carriage is stuck motionless in the ditch.
