1. Why do es Ken Robinson believe Art is less valued in our education system than subjects like Math and Science. Do you agree? Ken Robinson argues that schools put subjects that are more useful in the fields of work such as Math and Science than any of the arts. In today’s society if you are not good at crunching numbers or knowing about chemistry then you are a nuisance to society, or at least that is what schools make students believe when they hand them a bad grade. So our whole lives, we have been lead to believe that if you want to do music or learn to dance, that you are wasting time and will have no benefit to society. Dance schools and beauty schools are often mocked because instead of going through the “core” studies an ordinary university mandates, they focus on what they are interested in, what gives them inspiration, what gives them creativity. He proves his point very well when he tells the story of Gillian Lynne, a dance choreographer who produced many Broadway hits such as Cats and Phantom of the Opera.
