Writing Prompt for Essay Project #1: Analytical Essay in Response to Graham Clarke’s The Photograph as Fine Art In this analytical essay, you’ll dialogue with Graham Clarke and explore the qualities that you think make a photograph a work of art, an image that you personally would want to contemplate, for example, in your home or dorm room. 1. Begin with a single photographic image from the website Photography Now! to which you particularly respond. ( Drag and drop the image into your text.) 2. Describe the image in detail. 3. Describe your personal response to the image – what it means to you. 4. Generalize your response to explore what qualities in visual art are most meaningful to you, in dialogue with the Graham Clarke text. 5. Remember to include three citations from the Graham Clarke text, along with very adequate introductions and commentary.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
