SIEMENS DOMINANCE Casino Dilemma Early in my dealing career at the casino I began working with Joe Mendoza who was also a dealer at our casino. As I got to know Joe better it seemed as if he was a decent person but he never attracted much attention from anyone. He was always quiet and very rarely spoke in the break room. You would find him in the corner of the break room with his phone and fanny pack keeping him company. One day we came in and Joe had been fired for stealing black ($100) chips out of the rack. They had caught him on surveillance plucking a single black chip out of the rack each time he left a table and has he moved his arms up he slid the chip down his sleeve. He then would hide the chips in his fanny pack and his wife would come cash them in throughout the week when he wasn’t at work. Joe asked the company not to arrest them and since he had been a good employee they didn’t they just charged and released him. He fled the county and
