Eleven employees are sampled from all employees at the local personnel office. They provide X, the number of months of experience they have had in processing these particular types of personnel actions and they also provide Y, the time in hours observed in completing these actions. The results are shown in the table that follows. Determine the following from the data. 1. Construct a scatterdiagram of the 11 pairs of data. Do you see something that looks like a trend? Does there appear to be a relationship between the two variables X and Y? Does it look like a linear relationship? 2. If there is a trend, does that trend or relationship appear to be positive or negative? Direct or inverse? 3. Use the least squares regression method for estimating regression coefficients to compute or determine the equation of a line that might be used to predict time on task based upon the months of experience. What did you come up with?

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
