Assignment-4 BA-2300, Spring-Summer 2016, Instructor: Nick Naseem 1 | P a g e Homework Assignment -4 (20 Questions, 10-Points) BA-2300: Quantitative Methods – I (Section 005), Spring-Summer 2015 (Due Date: Monday, August 1 st , 11:59 pm) In this homework you are required to use the “Sports Bar Data Set” and the “Sports Bar Questionnaire” provided in the Assignments →Assignment-1 folder in the contents section of the BB for this course. This questionnaire was used to evaluate the possibility of opening a new sports restaurant in the Baton Rouge area around Louisiana State University campus. Please open the data set in SPSS, run the relevant analysis or SPSS syntax and answer the questions that follow. There may be a hint given for some questions. Questions below may also refer to the questions asked in the questionnaire. 1. Run a “one sample t test” for variable “prices”, (Hint: Refer to Q.2 in the questionnaire and “prices” variable in the data set) to find if the sample mean is significantly different than the test value of 3, the central value of a five point scale used to measure this variable, at 95% confidence level. You will need to check the p value, which is given in the column Sig 2-tailed whether or not it is less than .05 to be significant. (SPSS steps: Go to analyze → Compare means → One Sample T Test. It opens up a dialogue window. Click on “prices” and move it to the right side under the test variable(s) by clicking on the middle arrow.
