Also, the effectiveness of treatment programs while incarcerated is complicated further by the fact using different approaches in treating different misconducts leads to different results. Hence it compromises the validity and reliability of the treatment. I also agree that generalization of treatment programs in prisons has contributed to making the effectiveness of treatment programs in incarceration to be a controversial issue. This is because these treatments are not evidence-based in treating individual needs of the offender.
