Today’s date is April 27, 2017. I am interviewing James Chang at Starbucks in Magnolia Village. I am doing this interview for my research project about customer’s satisfaction level of Starbucks. Okay, so now I am going to ask my interviewee James a few questions about his opinion about Starbucks and why he chose to come here. So first can you tell me the reasons you have for coming to coffee shops? Why do you come here? Is there any specific reasons you coming to this coffee shop in Magnolia? JC: Interesting Questions. I live here in Magnolia, and I am a student. I usually come here to study, and I think coffee kind of helps me to focus on my homework. RS: Ok. Do you mind if I ask your age? JC: I am 22 years old. RS: Do you go to college? JC: Yes. RS: OK, great. Back to my interview question, why do you come to this store versus other coffee shops like Tully’s or a small business? JC: I come here because it is close to my house. I think the taste of coffee here is really great versus other coffee shops and they also have wide variety of snacks too. RS: OK. What about atmosphere? Do you like the atmosphere? Is there anything that distract you from studying? JS: I really like the atmosphere here. Really cozy and they have nice music. When I think music is too loud, I sometimes ask employee to lower the volume. RS: OK. And how often do you come here? JS: Hmm. I come here maybe 3 times a week?

RS: Ok good. And What do you usually order when you come here? JS: It kind of depends on my mood but I usually order Americano because I need a coffee boost for studying. RS: Ok good. So you mentioned about your mood, Does any other factors affect choosing the menu? For example, like you said your mood, purpose, rush for time, or weather? JS: Hmm. I think when I am kind of depressed or tired, I like order sweet drinks like Caramel Macchiato. About the weather, I prefer cold drinks when it is hot and hot drinks when it is cold. RS: Ok. Do you think all the products offered by Starbucks meet all your needs? JS: I think yes? I think they have good quality of coffee and food. And employees are always nice and friendly, and they work fast. RS: OK. What do you like about Starbucks versus other coffee shops? JS: I like Starbucks because they are fast. I always get my coffee in the morning before I go to school and I get my coffee after only 3-5 minutes. I pick up my coffee and the bus stop is right around the corner. I take bus there so it is perfect place for me. I think they use great quality ingredients versus other coffee shops. I have been to other coffee shop in Magnolia which is right across the street. I ordered hot latte and it was really blend, and I did not like it. Also, Starbucks has an app, which you can pay with your phone and you won’t have to wait in line to get your drink. I think that app is really handy for anyone who is rush for time.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
