Sterilization : the destruction of all forms of life.(nothing living in or on it) (commercial sterilization) Disinfection: destruction of harmful microorganisms. (disinfectant not sterile) Antisepsis: disinfection applied to living tissue(disenfectined is anaminate, and antisepsis is living) Degerming: mechanical removal of microorganisms. (washing hands) Sanitization: lower microorganisms to a safe acceptable level. (FDA standard not sterile just cleaned well ) Terminology of Microbial Control

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
