In 1945 the Yalta conference happened which resulted in the division of countries into four zones. The four zones included the USSR, USA, France and UK. Not only did the division exist but Germany and Japan was said to stay weak. From this being established the United Nations was formed. Two years later the Truman Doctrine was created. Soon after the Truman Doctrine was created, the Marshall Plan then came along. The Truman Doctrine and the Marshall Plan both played a part in being causes of the Cold War development in the years of 1945 and 1949. The Truman Doctrine was introduced in March of 1947 when Truman, who was president at the time gave a speech. The original purpose of the speech was because no military was going to be provided or economic assistance towards the Greek Government in the war against the Communist Party.
