TOTAL QUALITY ORGANIZATIONAL ANALYSIS 2 Total Quality Organizational Analysis Organizational Overview The selected organization to examine is Ashoka; commonly known as the Innovators of the Public. This is an international organization whose primary aim is to promote social entrepreneurship to individuals and other small groups. Ashoka undertakes the mandate to affiliate individual social entrepreneurs into the firm’s structure. The company provides their services to many people globally to help them with their entrepreneurial endeavors. The name Ashoka originates from the Mauryan Empire, who ruled during the 3 rd Century BC. Bill Drayton founded the company in June 1980. The current headquarters of the firm are located in Rosslyn, Virginia, United States. The firm is a non-profit organization having an average of 220 employees with about 5,200 volunteers and supporters who help to finance the activities of the enterprise. Mission and Motto The mission for Ashoka is to “shape a global business competitive resident sector: one that allows community capitalists to succeed and enables the world’s inhabitants to think and act aschangemakers.” Their motto is that every individual is a change-maker. Customers The firm focusses on individuals who have the urge to become change makers within the world especially with the integration of social entrepreneurship. According to London, Dell’Amore, Rothstein and Stockhammer-DeSimone (2014), most of the firm’s customers and target markets are fresh graduates who have the drive to work on projects with the aim of becoming successful. However, the firm also has many of their clients made up of businesspersons and entrepreneurs wishing to expand their activities to reach a wider market. These individuals are targets of the firm in their endeavor to ensure that people become change-makers in the world.

TOTAL QUALITY ORGANIZATIONAL ANALYSIS 3 Leadership The founder of Ashoka is the Chief Executive Officer of the firm, and through his direction, the firm has been able not only to remain stable within the industry but also to affiliate individuals into the same organization for improved performance and to make sufficient changes in the globe. Under his leadership, there exists the president, the financial officer, and the chief operations officer. According to Sharma and Harne (2015), the current leadership style within Ashoka is democratic leadership, which ensures that each of the management team members has an input in the final decision of the firm. Transformation of Roles in Continuous Improvement Feldner and Fyke (2016) state that the current style of management in the firm has led the organization into success over the 36 years of experience in the business, but it would be more stable if they adopted the participative leadership and management style.
