Introduction Seven-segment displays are often used in digital clocks, calculators, digital watches and other digital displayed items. In this lab the Seven-segment decoder will accept the BCD code and provide the correct decimal display on the output. Each segment in seven segment display is made up of a material that emits light when current is passed through it. The display device can provide a numerical value, a letter value or a symbol but in this lab the display will be used to show numbers from 0 to 9. An example of the 7-segment display is shown in Figure 2 below. A seven segment decoder has four BCD inputs (A,B,C,D) and seven outputs (a,b,c,d,e,f,g).
