In my opinion, the most interesting part about this reading is the title of the book itself which is The Song of Roland. Prior reading the book, it makes me wonder whether it is an assortment of songs about an influential man or is it just a series of unfortunate tales written poetically. And, who is Roland? Why is he becoming the central of the book? After a quick scanning of the front cover and the contents, I had just realised that this is like a literature book filled with abundant poems. It is also fascinating to enter the poem at the time when there is a chance for the Emperor to create an end to one particular unfinished war yet it was blocked by a charismatic man named Roland. I believe that a conflict should be put to an end if one side wants to reconcile as no matter how massive the hatred is, the most precious thing in a kingdom is the people’s life. I am also standing with the idea that a consensus must be achieved among the peers beforehand in order to survive the war.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
