Introduction: The purpose of this lab is to become familiar with our lab equipment. We will accomplish this by learning how to generate wave patterns on the oscilloscope as well as measure the resistance (in ohms) of various materials using a variety of ohmmeters. In addition, we will learn how to use a potentiometer and ammeter. Experiment Plan: I. Oscilloscope 1. Connect the main modulation generator to the oscilloscope. 2. Use the “triangular” wave form setting. Input a 10 V 0-P (zero to peak), 1 KHz signal. 3. Once you have obtained the correct wave form on the oscilloscope, record the waveform, time period, and scope scale settings. In addition, you can obtain a picture of the wave form via a USB flash drive. II. Ohmmeter 1. Connect the VOM to the varying materials to test one at a time. 2. Before making any measurements, make sure to “zero” out the VOM. Each setting is different and needs to be zeroed. 3.
