Closing The world has changed with the occurrence of such monstrous events as Enron and September 11th. In fact, it continues to change every single day. As technology advances, and more and more people are introduced to the idea that they may not have as much privacy as they had thought, the government is being pushed to pass laws to ban the sharing of peoples’ personal data. However, it is physically impossible for them to create one law that will completely eliminate the possibility of one’s privacy being violated. If you think about it, you have NEVER truly had your privacy. People have been on companies’ phone lists and mailings lists for years, and have never thought anything of it. However, with the changing of time, people are becoming more protective of themselves. Hence the word “themselves.” Businesses must regulate themselves in order to maintain their integrity and trustworthiness with their customers. People now have more ways to easily control what information they are giving out about
