Unformatted text preview: Rachel Carlson HDFS 412 Parenting Summary #1 February 21,2008 A big issue that is discussed often is parenting styles and who does the right or wrong things with their children. In the first article bu Judith Harris, she discussed a topic that raised the question why if two siblings are brought up in the same home they are not alike? I found this very interesting because many people say my sister and I are like day and night and being a year apart and in the same home with same parents most people who see some similarities between the two but we are complete opposites. As discussed in detail in the article and from prior research on the topic, it discusses that parents do not treat the two siblings alike. And mostly use different parenting styles. I feel that especially when children are a few years apart the parenting styles in the set of parents can change.
