Speech Outline The Proper Golf Swing For my speech I will be discussing the proper techniques used when swinging a golf club. Throughout the speech I will be explaining important steps you should follow and helpful tips that will allow you to remember those steps. I will be discussing the proper grips, stance, and also the proper ball placement in you stance. I will then discuss the proper positioning during your backswing, your downswing, follow through and the finish. Performing the proper golf swing is much more than having a club in your hands and swinging at a ball. There are many mechanics involved during every part of the swing. But before I explain those I will first go over the grip and stance. There are three main grips when holding a golf club- the standard baseball grip, inter-locking grip, and the over-lapping grip. For the stance, your feet should be a little more than your shoulders width apart. Ball placement in your stance will vary depending upon which club you are using. When using a short iron the ball placement should be in the middle of your stance
