ExpatriatesOfficial Memorandum ProposalTo: ManagerFrom: A. Touse (consultant)Date: April 29, 2017Subject: Suggestions to decrease expatriate turnoverAs a result of growing globalization, we have invested a large amount of money into training employees for assignment in foreign locations. However, the high turnover rate for expatriates has created a financial loss to this organization. I propose the following to decrease our organizations expatriate turnover:1.Offer a mentorship program for expatriates. According to Harvard Business Review (Stewart Black and Gregersen, 1999) expatriate turnover levels are high everywhere. The majority of expatriates leaving before the assignment is up due to job dissatisfaction or trouble adjusting to foreign culture, others are terminated because they fail to meet expectations.
