WHY I CHOSE SPHINXI chose Sphinx because I found it to be very interesting. The way it was created and all the facts about it have me very intrigued to learn more.
HOW THE SPHINX WAS CREATEDThe Great Sphinx of Giza was known as the terrible one, commonly known or referred to as the Sphinx of Giza or just Sphinx.The sphinx is a limestone statue of a reclining sphinx, it is a mythical creature with the body of a lion and the head of a human.It faces west to east.The sphinx is supposed to represent Pharaoh Khafre.The sphinx is a monolith carved into the bedrock of the plateau.The sphinx is one of the oldest and largest statues. The great Sphinx was approximately built in 2500 BC
FACTS ABOUT THE SPHINXThe sphinx is 73 meters long and 20 meters high.Researchers believe the blocks of stone weigh 200 tonsIn 1905, the sand was cleared away to expose the full body of the sphinxThe sphinx was constructed in the 4thdynasty.
