Anthropology 143 3/10/08 Journal 2 The article “New Arizona Law Has Large Impact on Families, Economy” by Christina Boomer of ABC Phoenix offers a sympathetic point of view towards illegal immigrants and their families. The new Arizona Employer Sanctions Law “forbids business owners to knowingly hire illegal immigrants.” As a result of this new law, many illegal immigrants are pulling their children from school and waiting for their tax returns before packing up and heading back to Mexico.

I understand that from a humanitarian point, we should care about all people, but from a realistic view, why is it the concern of the United States to consider the interests of criminals? I believe that the United States should consider the interests of its own people before it worries itself with the interests of foreigners living illegally in the United States....
