Unformatted text preview: K risten’s Cookies Analysis Problem: Kristen’s Cookies must create a business that has a competitive advantage over many larger competitors that sell food quicker and easier. Kristen must create her business in a way that attracts customers, yet overcomes her bottleneck of oven cooking. Alternative 1: The cheapest fresh cookies on campus- K risten has the ability to sell her products cheap because she is working for herself. I t might not be needed for her to make money quickly. She can set the price low at about 50 cents a cookie and increase the price when she gets more customers. Although her profits would not be substantial, she would be satisfying her goal. Yet, this solution has many disadvantages. First, many kids late night are not even looking for the cheapest product. Often on a college campus students are intoxicated and just prefer the place that is the most convenient rather than the price. An on-campus apartment will undoubtedly be less convenient for a student who could most likely go across the street to a Nasty’s like restaurant and buy himself a cookie. Furthermore, most college campuses have a pay system which is placed on a card or account before the semester begins (i.e. Big Red Bucks). In this way, the student is not actually paying for the cookie or food himself. The money is prepaid so he must use it before the semester ends. Furthermore some students’ meal plan is paid by their parents and it would be as if the student is not even paying for the money at all. it would be as if the student is not even paying for the money at all....
