Chemistry 111 – Experiment #10 Sampling Plan Submitted by: Dax Lyons, Chem 111-103, TA: Sam Diamond, Rm#: 110 Whitmore Date: February 26, 2008 Names of Partners: Andrew Marrs, Heather Marsh and Sara Martin Location of Water Samples: My group and I will be taking tap water samples from around the state of Pennsylvania at various elevations. The four locations that we will be sampling from include Pittsburgh, PA elevation 233 meters, Philadelphia, PA elevation 12 meters, Harrisburg, PA elevation 102 meters and lastly Irwin, PA elevation 305 meters. My Sample: My water sample will be from my house 326 Old Lesnett Rd, Pittsburgh PA. Expected Results: Each of the four water sampling locations my group and I have chose for the upcoming experiment, will be acquired from various heights in the state of Pennsylvania. I expect the water at the highest sampling location will be the softest, since at a higher elevation the rain that accumulates will have come in contact with less Magnesium ions (Mg
