Gun Control Laws 2 American gun laws are probably one of the most political arguments we experience in our society across the country. Our constitutional right to bear arms seems to become more and more difficult as crime rates and suicides continue to sky rocket each year. The security risk of mentally ill and unstable individuals including youth, cause risk on our communities and homeland. Stricter gun laws can help reduce the risk of crime, suicides and children in danger due to weapons. Specific laws will help reduce the risk of crime and violent offenses on innocent individuals. Scientific research conducted over the years has proven this. States with looser gun laws tend to have higher volumes of crime rates. In some states across the U.S. gun control laws seem to be less than some other states causing crime rate by gun violence continuously on the rise. Statistic show that violence by gun or weapons are more effected in states with lesser gun regulations in those states. Rates of suicide by gun in states with high versus low levels of gun ownership is 3.8 times higher than in the past. Gun laws vary dramatically across the United States. Public health researchers have linked states gun laws to levels of gun violence. In 2014 Louisiana and Alaska led the country in the number of gun deaths per 100,000 people. States like California, Washington, Illinois, New York and New Hampshire that have more restrictive gun laws had much lower gun related deaths during the 2014 year. The United States have higher rates of violence in states with looser restrictions on gun ownership, hence is why we also have a higher rate of gun ownership in these states. Enforcing stricter gun laws, could help reduce violent crimes with firearms. Americans want to know immediate answer fast and easy. This tends to steer individuals to miss leading information and statistics. A question I know our fellow citizens ask every day are, do gun laws affect crime rate? States with high crime rate do not typically always factor in
