Running Head: ANALYST INTERVIEWING TOOLS Abstract As software development has excelled throughout the years, one of the strategies have been to have business requirement drive IT systems and not vice versa. When IT drives business, a lot of work arounds are put into place to make the system work. To ensure an organization develops an IT system that meets their needs, understanding the user requirements has been the key. An analyst will work with the business users to interview and understand the requirements and produce effective documents to map out the end-to-end processes. Computer-based tools can be utilized to make this process efficient and store essential documents. Computer- based tools such as data modeling tools have been leading the market within the last decade. According to CA technologies CA news letter, “The need for strong, holistic data management has never been greater, as organizations rush to make sense of big data and react quickly to market demands,” said Danny Sandwell, Product Marketing, CA ERwin Products, CA Technologies. “CA ERwin continues to be far and away the leading solution to meet these critical business needs” (CA Technologies 2015, p.5).

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
