This need ensured the support of the public in the aid of U.S. allies.Roosevelt and most of America saw what was happening overseas in Europe. Hitler had taken everycountry on the continent except for Great Britain and they were hardly holding their own after a while.America’s president wanted spread freedom across the world and he also wanted the U.S. to lead byexample, to be the “City on a hill” in the world’s eyes. However, not all Americans wanted to be involved with Europe’s war.
