Andrea Kim Professor Kane LS1 Dem 2D May 10, 2016 Thymus Vulgaris       Thymus Vulgaris , or Common Thyme, is a species of flowering plant in the mint family,  Lamiaceae. It is native to southern Europe from the western Mediterranean to southern Italy. It is well adapted for the dry and hot weather in the Mediterranean. It prefers to grow in permeable  soil rich in organic matter and mineral fertilizing elements such as the soil found inland around  the Mediterranean Sea. However, this plant is capable of living in different locations with similar climate all around the world. It is capable of adapting to help it survive anywhere else and can  withstand severe drought and frost. Currently, common thyme can be cultivated almost anywhere but more specifically in places with warm temperatures and well-drained soil.  Thyme appears very shrub-like with small grey-green, aromatic leaves. It is mostly
